All the cuteness!

Check out all this baby glider cuteness. This is the one baby female from the newest litter. She is just over a week out of pouch here, and her eyes have only been open for about a day.
I still don't know where she is headed once she is old enough to leave her mom...but she is a happy healty little girl for now.

Glider Moment
I just had, hands down, the best glider experience to date.
I deliberately let Nina and Cagel out of the cage while I got the young ones out, they were all awake when on got home at 7:40 because the lights were all off.
Nina and Cagel took their time checking my out, and left the cage at a leisurely pace, they usually bolt for the door when i leave it open. Once out, they checked me out some more and wandered around the outside of the cage, and the screen, occasionally the floor and tapestry. (I'm not sure why at one point Nina leaped for the middle of the living room and came right back.)
I took the babies out one at a time, though its not really fair to call them babies anymore. they crawled around on my hands, arms and chest. they aren't comfortable with jumping yet, and were content to climb around on me (although Nathan bites a lot). Mom and Dad kept coming back to the cage door, occasionally climbing onto my hands with little prompting. They climbed on me, then the cage, then got on my hand, then me , then the screen...They run up and down my legs, chasing each other, the whole while the young ones were playing with me. Then, mom and dad both went in the cage, i put Abrigella back (Nathan was on the wheel) and closed up the cage...the whole thing lasted about 15 minutes.
Best gliders experience to date.

The long road home
Well, I'm posting, so I must have made it home safe from Missouri.
We had a really nice road trip, put a lot of miles on the Land Rover, ate some bad Slim-Jim, had some excellent biscuites and gravy, lost a game of Rugby and got to see a little bit of Kansas City.
It was a really nice trip though. Amazing i had to drive 8.5 hours to be somewhere where I could just relax.
We took some pictures of the gliders when we got home, the babies seemed to grow a lot over the weekend! they were much more active and compotent in motion than they were 4 days ago when last i played with them. Abrigella is still easier to upset than Cagel, but they both settled down and played with us. I'll get the pictures up as soon as I can.
Rugby in MO
I'm getting ready to head out to Missouri this weekend.
I haven't been there in about 15 years.
We will be making the 8.5 hour drive to Kansas City Missouri.
Elisa has a rugby game down there this weekend. The plan is to leave my house at about 2 (20 minutes from the time of this posting) and make the long drive, to get down there before 11pm.
I'm not sure what time her game is on Saturday, but we want to get plenty of rest tonight, so the sooner the better.
Baby glider update
Nope...Sorry, no new pictures at this time.
The Babies are doing really well however. Their fur is getting much thicker, their eyes are more alert and they are getting a little more adventurous.
I had the babies out today and was playing with them for a bit, and I was holding their pouch in my left hand, when Nina (that's the mom) decides to climb out of the pouch and down the sleeve of my long sleeve shirt! I was the first time they have ventured to do such a thing. It was pretty cool...She climbed down to my arm-pit and then back out to the cuff and back into her pouch. They are definitely relaxing more around me, as I spend more time with them and the babies.
Too bad I hadn't take this time with them before...Not that they are mean or anti-social, just that I realize how much more social they can be. I'm sure the babies will be even friendlier growing up around the girls all the time.
Mothers Day
I went to my mom's house for mothers day...I was running behind schedule, which for those who know me shouldn't come as a surprise. To add to the delay, I was picking up Elisa in Geneva, and grabbing a snack before we got to mom's house. Okay ... for some of you it may be obvious that you shouldn't try to 'pop in' anywhere in Geneva at 2 O'clock on a Sunday, but that apparently wasn't clear to Elisa and I...so it took forever for us to grab something to tide us over till dinner.
Well, we ended up having dinner at mom's house around 4:30. She made corned beef and cabbage...it was really good, and I ate my fill.
We played some 'apples to apples' and then Elisa and I went for a walk. It was a nice quiet visit. It was Odd being there without the kids.
Glider babies
Abrigella
Nina and Cagel
I sent Tish a picture of one of the baby gliders so she could show it to the girls ... which prompted Elle to callme this morning to ask how the baby gliders are doing. She asked me to send some more pictures.
With this in mind, i have taken some pictures of the babies for the blog. Now, I was using Elisa's camera, and I was apparently too close on a lot of the pictures and they didn't turn out. I'm posting the ones that did...
Abrigella
Abrigella
So i turns out that all the blurry pictures were of Nathan, he is elusive, i'll have to send the paparazzi out after him...
